20 Freelance Job Sites for Programmers and Designers

August 27, 2011 –

Freelance work can be very advantageous and may be ideal for many designers and developers. One can choose interesting work and have flexibility in companies, project teams, terms, and work location.  Freelancing may also provide an extra stream of income and a measure of financial freedom.

As mentioned in a previous post, there are downsides to freelance work as well. Lack of projects or work is stressful; lack of income provides struggles for all.  To help get past these problems, we offer some websites that feature freelance opportunities.  The list below is by no means comprehensive or complete, but provides 20 different sources to explore.  As always, please research the opportunities and get any offers in writing.
