Disabled? Work for the Federal Government

Are you disabled and want a job, even a career?  How about working for the federal government?  The Federal Government is actively recruiting and hiring people with disabilities.  Ranging from IT Specialists to Human Resources, a government career may be a great choice for you!

The federal government generally has great benefits from health care to a pension.  Government jobs are as close to layoff-proof as any in the private sector.  Pay is much closer to the private sector and of course, all federal holidays are days off for you!  Jobs are available in many states, not just Washington, D.C.  Telework or work from home jobs are an option in some cases.

If interested, below is a link to a list of federal websites.  According to USAJobs, most Federal agencies have a Selective Placement Program Coordinator (SPPC) or equivalent who helps management recruit, hire and accommodate people with disabilities.  If interested – any why not? – check out what Uncle Sam has to offer you!

Each of the three links in this post will take you to different websites and options.  I am not employed by the Federal government nor have I gone through the hiring process.  I do know that a so-called Schedule A is required and is available through state offices or via your physician.
