As indicated in a previous post, I wanted to give Amazon Affiliate marketing a try on this website. I will continue to update results and explain my findings. Looking on the webpage, Amazon links with pictures are now visible.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
In general, affiliate marketing as defined by Entrepreneur online: A way for a company to sell its products by signing up individuals or companies (“affiliates”) who market the company’s products for a commission.
There are two ways to work with affiliate marketing: You can offer an affiliate program to others or 2) you can sign up to be another business’s affiliate. If you are the business offering an affiliate program (like Amazon), you’ll pay a commission fee for every lead or sale to your website. If you are a partner or affiliate or associate, you receive the fee.
Affiliate marketing is a popular and proven method for websites to generate revenue. There is no cost in most cases and there are many potential affiliate partner sites. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the rules or risk getting kicked from the program.
Clicking on your own website links is a no-no and will terminate the agreement. Google has a similar rules with its Adsense program. Many popular ones like commission junction and linkshare are found on problogger.net.
