Amazon Affiliate Failure

I gave Amazon Affiliate marketing two months (December, January) to see if I could make any money. The net result: nada, zip, zilch, zero. Maybe I set it up wrong – I used a WordPress plugin instead of trying to modify HTML. I’m just not sure about that.

In either case, it was a failed attempt for me. I will investigate another popular affiliate – Commission Junction – to see if that yields better results. Ease of install would be a plus, too. I don’t want to spend hours trying to modify code or chase down solutions to problems with WordPress or the affiliate.

I apologize for not posting much in the last month or two. Family illnesses have taken me away from keeping up with blog postings, etc. I will try to be more attentive in 2016.

On the plus side, I just received a 4th quarter payment from Smashwords – the eBook distributor. Considering I’ve published little recently, I earned $18.25 for the quarter. Not much, but combined with Amazon and Google (both pay monthly), I am still making an extra $5 to $10 a month in eBook royalties. I’ll take it!
